Aquanetta: A Script Font for Web Designers

Aquanetta in a Creative Portfolio Header

As I was working on a creative portfolio redesign, I needed a font that would stand out without overwhelming the layout. Aquanetta, a beautiful script font with a handwritten feel, caught my eye immediately. It had the right balance of elegance and approachability—perfect for a designer’s personal brand. I tested it in the hero section, placing it over a full-width image of a recent project. The result felt polished and inviting, making the headline pop while still maintaining readability.

Aquanetta is PUA encoded, which means I could easily access all the glyphs and swashes without needing additional tools. This made customizing the headline with flourishes and stylistic alternates a breeze. It added just enough personality to the header without distracting from the visual content underneath.

Aquanetta for an Online Store Banner

Next, I considered using Aquanetta for a boutique online store I was helping to build. The client wanted a warm and welcoming brand identity that felt handcrafted. I placed the font in the banner above the product grid, pairing it with a clean sans serif font for the product titles and descriptions. The contrast worked well, and the script font gave the site a unique touch that stood out against competitors.

One thing I kept in mind was readability on mobile screens. While Aquanetta looked great in larger sizes, I avoided using it for small buttons or dense text blocks. Instead, I reserved it for decorative accents like callout quotes and promotional banners. This ensured the design remained accessible across all devices.

Aquanetta in a Coaching Website Call-to-Action Section

I also experimented with Aquanetta on a coaching website where the goal was to build trust and encourage sign-ups. In the call-to-action section, I used the font for the main CTA button text, “Start Your Journey,” and paired it with a neutral background. The soft curves of the script font helped create a sense of warmth and approachability, aligning perfectly with the brand’s message.

However, I noticed that using Aquanetta on dark backgrounds reduced its legibility slightly. To compensate, I adjusted the font weight and added a subtle drop shadow. This helped maintain clarity while preserving the aesthetic appeal of the script font. It became a key element in guiding user attention toward the most important action on the page.

Aquanetta for Blog Headers and Article Titles

For a blog redesign, I wanted to make the headers more engaging without sacrificing readability. Aquanetta proved to be a great fit for article titles and section headers, especially when used sparingly. I limited its use to major headings and allowed a simple sans serif font to handle the body copy. This created a clear visual hierarchy that helped readers scan through the content efficiently.

The PUA encoding made it easy to customize each title with unique swashes and alternates, ensuring no two headlines felt repetitive. This level of customization was particularly useful for a lifestyle blog that aimed to feel personal and authentic.

Aquanetta in Digital Ads and Promotional Graphics

In another project, I used Aquanetta for a digital ad campaign promoting a new course. The font added a touch of creativity and professionalism, making the ad feel both trustworthy and visually appealing. I used it for the headline and paired it with a high-contrast color scheme to ensure it stood out against the background.

Because Aquanetta is a script handwritten font, it naturally suited the tone of the course, which focused on creative expression and self-improvement. The font helped reinforce the brand’s message and made the ad feel more relatable and human.

Aquanetta as Part of a Brand Kit

When creating a digital brand kit for a startup, I included Aquanetta as one of the primary typefaces. Its versatility made it ideal for various elements, from logos to social media posts. I recommended using it for logo text and taglines, while reserving a more modern sans serif font for body copy and UI elements.

It was important to mention that Aquanetta comes with multiple styles and alternates, which allowed for greater flexibility in branding. This made it easier to adapt the font across different platforms and mediums, ensuring consistency in the brand’s visual identity.

Aquanetta for a Course Sales Page

Finally, I tested Aquanetta on a course sales page, where the goal was to attract potential learners with a strong visual impact. I used the font for the headline and subheadings, ensuring they were large enough to be readable but not overwhelming. The script font helped convey a sense of creativity and expertise, aligning with the course’s theme.

I also used Aquanetta in the testimonials section, adding a personal touch to customer reviews. This helped create a more conversational tone and reinforced the idea that the course was designed by someone who understood the needs of their audience.
